Story is the song line of a person’s life. We need to sing it and we need someone to hear the singing. Story told, story heard, story written, story read, create the web of life in words.

A Voice of Women: The Story of Muriel Duckworth

A Storytelling of the Life and Times of a Canadian Peace Activist

Muriel Duckworth (1908-2009) was a remarkable woman who thought she was quite ordinary. Born near Montreal, Quebec, Muriel was one of the founding members and national President of the Canadian women’s peace organization: Voice of Women (Canadian Voice of Women for Peace). Muriel traveled internationally, promoting peace and justice, focusing on the concerns of women and children. Her message is clear and passionate: Peace is the Way

“A Voice of Women” is a sixty-minute collection of anecdotes, recalling the turbulent 60s and 70s in Canada, when the threat of nuclear war hovered over the world. It is the story of an extraordinary woman who went beyond her doubts and fears and who “got the job done”, accomplishing much and inspiring many. Muriel’s story of commitment to peace needs to be shared today more than ever!
